John is a founding partner at Euroa Law Group. His practice includes both Family Law and Education Law. Through his work, John advocates for and advances the rights of children. He is a Certified Specialist in Family Law and is also certified as a Family Law mediator, arbitrator, and collaborative law practitioner.

John has earned the respect of his clients, judges, mediators and arbitrators for his sensible approach to resolving family law issues, his concern for children, and his understanding of complex financial matters. At paragraph 71 of a court decision, Justice Sherr wrote “Mr. Schuman’s conduct in this case is an example of what lawyers are supposed to do in difficult cases.”

He has been a repeated guest lecturer for the Master of Education program at St. Francis Xavier University and has been a presenter on several CLE programs on education law.

John obtained his BAH in Political Science from Queen’s University before pivoting to law. He obtained his LLB from the University of Windsor in 1998 and his LLM in Child and Family Law from Queen’s University in 1999. John was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001. He is also a licensed paramedic.
